Femmes at Full Volume focuses on righteous female and female-presenting warriors and solid indie cred female-led bands dating back to the early nineties forward. It features icons such as Stevie Nicks, Patti Smith, Joan Jett, Lady Gaga, and Erykah Badu, to artists closer to the underground, including Rita Lukea, Alli Logout, Zola Jesus, and many more.
Bobby Talamine shot his first concert in 1977, as a teenager, when Led Zeppelin played the Chicago Stadium, and started photographing concerts professionally in 1982. Throughout the decades, Talamine has captured over 5,000 artists.
The foreword is written by avant-garde vocalist, pianist, and composer Diamanda Galás.

about bobby

From the Foreword by Diamanda Galás:
Bobby Talamine is what is meant by the original “rock ‘n’ roll photographer.”
He is the animal you see hanging off the balcony to get the perfect shot. He hits the camera when the performance is at maximum intensity the way Patsy Cline’s first take was used on many of her recordings.
Bobby has big ears and eyes and swoops down to hit the wildest moments. He is not interested in anything less. He champions the artists he loves, and he wants their souls on film.
The subjects of his work meet an unusually kind and empathic human, with whom they find an unusual bond. In person, he is 100 percent focused. He wants to give you what you want. I had a very warm conversation with him before my concert in Chicago, and I know of many such conversations he has had with artists.
Bobby has captured over 5,000 artists, not including the many portraits he has done. He is an artist’s champion, and his photos prove it.
